Note, in order to generate an Unplanned Work Order from an Event trigger, the Asset associated with the work order must have an “On Demand” or similar Event trigger linked to it. See the section “How to add an Even Trigger to a planned task” for the detailed steps on how to add an event trigger to a planned task of an asset.
Tasks with event-type triggers can be executed as unscheduled tasks. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Follow the normal steps for creating an unscheduled task by selecting the “Asset” dropdown list.
2. Next, select the required asset from the asset catalog list
3. The “Assets related events” window will open (Note, this window will only appear if there are event type triggers linked to the asset selected in the previous step). Select one of the 3 ways in which the event will be managed (see detailed descriptions below).
The 3 ways in which the event can be managed are:
-
Launch Event/Plan Task: This option allows you to run the task as if it were a scheduled task from a task plan. When launching the event, said task will appear in the Work Queue (the scheduled date will be the same date as to when the event was launched).
-
Use Event for Unplanned Task: This option allows you to run the task as an unscheduled task but with all the details added from the planned event. In addition, this option allows you to edit the details (using the 4-step process) of the task without affecting the associated maintenance plan.
-
Skip: This action allows you to generate an unplanned work order from scratch (using the 4-step process). In other words, a work order can be registered that is not related to any of the events associated with the asset.
4. After defining how the event will be managed, follow the usual procedure to generate the work order associated with the task in question and thus finish the process.
