API Connection
With this add-on, the Super Administrator account can generate API access keys. From this option, you obtain the API Key and the API Secret for your contracted Fracttal database, which are necessary to access and exchange information with the web services.
OAuth Consumers are a feature of the Fracttal API based on the OAuth 2.0 authentication protocol, a secure and widely recognized standard for authentication and authorization in web and mobile applications.
Their function is to allow third-party applications to obtain authorization to access the system's protected resources.
This is useful when you need to integrate external services or applications that require access to your users' data or functions in Fracttal. When creating a consumer, you define the type of authorization it will operate with.
Authorization Code
It is used when the application needs to access resources on behalf of a specific user. In this case, the application redirects the user to an authorization page of the Fracttal API, where the user authenticates and grants consent.
From there, the application receives an authorization code that it then exchanges for an access token; that token allows it to make requests on behalf of the user without the user having to authenticate each time.
Client Credentials
This is the most suitable option for applications or services that access resources without direct user intervention. When configuring the consumer with this type, a key and secret are generated for the application, which it uses to obtain the access token directly. It is ideal for automated actions, such as background tasks or periodic processes.
