Assets can be imported in a structured and hierarchical manner by using unique asset codes and linking each of these codes with a Parent Code field (Located in or Part of).
Below is a typical example of a hierarchical asset tree view structure as it appears in the system, where:
o Energy Services is the parent location to location North riding PV Plant
o North Riding PV Plant is the parent location to asset PV System PV1
o PV System PV1 is the parent asset to assets Electrical Panel PV1, Inverter PV1, AC Panel PV1, etc…
Note, imports for locations and equipment must be performed separately. Location imports must be carried out first as they will be used as the parent codes for the equipment imports that follow.
Example of a completed Import Sheet
When compiling the import sheet, the following points must be considered when entering in the Parent Code and Equipment Code fields:
· The Parent Code column (Located in or Part of), must contain the immediate hierarchical parent of the asset in question so that the system recognizes where said asset should be located on the platform.
· In order to import the equipment BJDA-01, BJXV-01 or BJDH-01 into the system, the location (Parent Asset) B&J Dental 01 should be loaded/imported first.
Finally, after carrying out the import using the parent code GLEN HOSP01 as shown in the import sheet above, the hierarchical structure of the import sheet will transfer into the Assets tree view in the platform as displayed below.
